Phew, after all finally some time to look back at the great ISCA convention and make up my summary for you guys!
On this convention I managed to make three paintings:

my wall.

Roger Hurtado and Miguel.

Scott Sulivan.
Of course there was not only the competition in the ballroom, there were also the speed competition (where the artists competed against each other to draw as many drawings as possible, with an acceptable likeness and quality in 5 minutes) and the likeness competition. To fill up the rest of the program there were also the most inspiring, interesting workshops and seminars; such as Caricature 101 with Lar de Sooza, the daily sketching along with Jan Op De Beéck’s “Birthday sketches” , a second opinion with Jason Seiler, and many more…AND not to forget the four special guest speakers from MAD!!
This is what the speed competition looked like. All you need to add to it is the constant screams of “next” from the artists who moved on to their next subject and the smell of marker fumes and sweat
After all the drawing fun the fun mostly continued in the waterpark, at the bar or in the arcade game zone.

Last but not least came the awards banquet! for the complete results click here.
The nosey awards went to:
Golden nosey: Glenn Ferguson
Silver nosey: Marlo Meekins
Bronze nosey: Yuta Honme
They also anounced where the next ISCA convention will be…drumroll:
…Las Vegas, Nevada!
See you guys there it’s been an awesome convention!

Today i went to Cedar Point, “Rollercoaster capital of the world”, with Angie and Scott. We really had a great time riding all the legendary top thrill rides, I shot two video’s, one from the Top thrill Dragster and another from the Millennium Force.

Hmm what a day, and where to start… I got up early this morning at 6 am, went to the airport and on 11:10 am the airplane descended for what would be an 8 hour flight to Washington DC. Although the trip took long it wasn’t uncomfortable at all. This because we were carrying the litle Sakura with us which delivered us a privilege for seats with some extra leg space. Other than that, the food was pretty decent and the movies were good. Arriving in Washington DC there was a crazy dressed women wishing us a nice stay in the United States, I almost forgot it was halloween, more about that later… The first thing I ordered when I arrived after this long flight was…
…Strawberry Cream, couldn’t have been much better.
Meanwhile it was already time to catch up with my next flight onto Cleveland, Ohio.
The landscape of the kingdom sky.
The City Cleveland, from the airplane.
In Cleveland a shuttle took us to the final destination, the Kalahari resort. Amazement was the only word who could possibly describe what it was. A huge Building with all under one roof the water park, an arcade zone, the shopping, the hotel, the convention room and possibly even much more… This building is for the moment filled with dressed up children knocking on each door for “Trick or Treat”.
Tomorrow I’m going to Cedar Point, one of worlds best amusing parks, stay tuned, I’ going to try to shoot a video on that.
