Klaas Op De Beéck

Here are the skateboards I designed for a course at school. We had to create something  and get the inspiration for the designs from an other culture. I mainly based my designs on the motives in the west african Kuba culture. I wanted to give the pattern something personal so I made a small self-portrait for this one (the eyes).

In these I used a drawing of a Kuba women that I did earlier on.

For these I re-used the Eyes I drew earlier on.

I still need to decide which of these 9 designs I’m going to print on a skateboard, so please leave me a comment on which one you like the most…
