ISCA Japan, Caricature convention Osaka
The convention ended 4 days ago, yet I didn’t really have the time to post the work I did.
Anyway, here are the 2 paintings I did at the ISCA caricature convention in Osaka, Japan.
They’re both oil on panel, using brushes and an etching needle for crosshatching.
Below you can see some details, although they are a bit too low quality to really see something.
The convention itself was awesome. With no doubt the best convention I’ve been to!
If you would like to read some more about the convention and my Japan experience itself, I wrote about it in this post on my tumblr blog.
The BIG Turkey
A self portrait with QR-code
Ms-tag Self-portrait
- 65×65 cm oil on canvas
Both Images are painted on the same canvas. The first shown is actually painted on top of the second. In the first one I painted an MS tag, which you can scan with your smartphone with the ms-tag reader application. This links to a page on which you get to see the image of the self-portrait underneath (which you can here see as the second image)
(I didn’t have the time to make the page were the tag links to yet, but you get the idea.)
Another Self-portrait
A Pearl For Tits
A detail and a study
A QR self portrait after Rembrandt
-Oil on canvas, 65×65 cm
This painted QR code links to my twitter account and has a code free space, where I painted a self portrait after Rembrandt’s 1628 Self-portrait, which I earlier digitally modified into my face.
I’ll update this post with some close ups on the self portrait tomorrow, when I have a better picture.
